The next leg of the explore and dive Bali was to Kuta. We travelled 3 hours up through the hills after two very cold dives in Secret Bay. The dive gear was reasonably dry, so once packed, we drove upwards through the amazing paddy fields to a place where we could see two lakes side by side.

It was amazing… the lakes were parted by just a little vegetation. We stopped for tea and to stretch our legs a bit.

We reached Kuta by evening and after a quick shower started exploring and shopping through the many shops. I found an amazing place which was packed with paintings … beautiful and oh so cheap!

The next day was for surfing and the mandatory trip to Hard Rock Cafe Bali. Its HUGE compared to the little one in KL. I got most of my souvenirs for the kids and my staff there.

The guys shopped as much as the gals! So who says men don’t know how to shop … they haven’t met my friends obviously!

We had a great time in Kuta … two nights of pure fun and hanging out.

The next leg of the trip was with some other diver friends who had gone to the Komodo National Park whilst we went to Menjangan (I didn’t want to go back there again). We met up at Denpasar Airport, then drove up again into the hills to Tulamben for another 3 nights of Balinese hospitality.
