Hayati gets her makeover

Hayati needed a lot of work

Hayati was referred to us by her sister Omi who had visited us for a makeover some weeks ago.

A busy mum, Hayati hadn’t seen a dentist for some time and was quite, quite nervous!

Both sisters had mis-shapen upper teeth and to top things Hayati also had lost two teeth in her lower jaw.

We discussed the treatment plan … there were many options available to replace her lower teeth … and many options to correct the tilted uppers.

Hayati chose to do composite veneers for her upper teeth and to do a bridge for her lowers.

She was still doubtful that it could be done … even in a two stage process … but her sister, having done her makeover earlier, encouraged Hayati, “You won’t regret it! The Makeover will be great for you.”

And so we started with her upper teeth … that was the easy part!

Hayati now ... what a difference!

The lowers took a little longer as I had to prepare the models for the technicians. They would need a week to complete the bridge.

On Saturday, Hayati came in for the final touch … she was still nervous.

When we placed the bridge and passed her the mirror she smiled!

Hayati smiled! Both Omi and I teased her about it … you see Hayati never smiled wide … she always covered her mouth or turned her head … and there she was smiling!

The “After” photos still were a little difficult to take though. 😉

Hayati, you got a beautiful smile now … enjoy practising showing it off!!

I love my job.

Dear Dr Fauziah,

I am terrified of dentists and have not visited one in many years but after reading your comments, I would like to seek treatment from you. I am embarrassed to admit this but my teeth condition is quite bad.

Would composite or porcelain veneer be suitable for anterior teeth with fillings? And how much would they cost?
