Azzi’s Preserved Trademark : Dr Kayethri
Azzi was one of those high spirited patients, who came all the way from Kuantan just to do her makeover.
She is a teacher based in Kuantan. Her parents live in Kuala Lumpur though. Since the school holidays had started, she obviously came back home.
What gave me a pleasant suprise, was when Azzi told me that she just arrived from Kuantan on the day of her appointment, checked into a hotel in Bukit Bintang and came straight to the clinic even before going back home! It’s amazing what strong-will could make you do.
Azzi was very eager and asked a lot of questions, regarding composite veneers, Zoom! Whitening and wanted to know what were her options.
She had gaps in between her teeth, an unpleasant teeth shape and the left canine jutting out (ectopic canine). So, to make it all even, I suggested 6 composite veneers. I also told her that the result would be even better if she was willing to remove the ectopic canine.
She stared a while at the mirror. “I don’t mind actually” she said. “Although it’s like a trademark in my family, all my siblings have it,” she continued.
“A trademark??? How can you destroy a trademark! Azzi, I will do 5 veneers for you excluding the canine, to make it less jutting out, and you judge later, whether you want it out, ok? ” I said. I didn’t have the heart to change her family trademark, the ectopic canine. 🙂
Though Azzi was the fearful type (of dentist of course) she gave the green light for us to get started. I did not touch the canine as I wanted to preserve the original shape and size.
Upon completion, Azzi looked at the mirror, the final result. Smiling widely, she said “I like it! And I don’t have to remove my ‘family trademark'”.
To be frank, this is the first time I made someone happy by not ‘changing’ something.
Hahaha! Azzi, take care of that trademark ok …. 🙂
