Love, Hate Relationship- Dr. Dini.

“What do you hate about dentists? What part of it bugs you the most? EVERYTHING! If you’re a dentist hater, I’m sure you have your reasons, and yet I’ll bet it’s not actually dentists you hate. It’s all the stuff a dentist does that creeps you out, the drilling, filling and billing parts.  This is my dentist , Dr. Dini. I came to her with a gleam of hope. My teeth were in terrible condition, my spirits were down, my self esteem was low until she performed her magic and believe me it was magic.”

This is the caption on Ina’s Instagram account. I am pretty sure that ninety percent of world population hate us. The reason? All of the above , mentioned by Ina. At first, Ina came to see me because of tooth ache. I could see that she was terrified on the first visit. Her face was really pale and I could feel her heart raced very fast.I did some fillings on her  third visit and then only, she could calm herself down, compared to the earlier visits.

Before.

Ina had a discolored front tooth. She had done root canal treatment years back. There is a number of factors causing this. The most common cause however, is caused by the dead dentin left inside the tooth. Ina said, she wanted to smile like a normal person. She wants to smile and grin from ear to ear and laugh out loud without having to cover her mouth with her hand anymore.I smiled to her  when I heard this and told her that I can delivered her dream smile and make her wish come true. I suggested her to do two unit porcelain crown and two composite veneers to achieve her dream smile and I promised her that it will be a PAINLESS procedure. Hearing the magic word, she smiled and nodded her head and I know that is the sign of her saying, “Lets do this doctor!”.

There are several types of crowns that can be used, including ceramic, resin, and stainless steel (cosmetic crowns are usually made of porcelain or ceramic). The procedure for installing a dental crown normally takes two  visits. At your first appointment, we will examine the tooth to make sure that it can support a crown, then begin filing it down to prepare for the crown.  After the tooth has been filed or trimmed to the proper shape, we will take an impression of the tooth, as well as those surrounding it, and send it away to a dental lab, so the permanent crown can be made accordingly. By the end of this first visit, your tooth will have a new temporary crown that protects it until the final crown is ready to be permanently placed.

Ina with her temporary crown. What a huge difference from before!

Ina was so pleased with her temporary crown. She posted her picture with her temporary crown on her Instagram and she wrote:

“Though, this is only temporary crowns, I am head over heels in love with it! Since yesterday, I keep looking at the mirror. Very pleased! Thank you Dr. Dini, the dentist with magic fingers. See you in one week time Doc!”.

A brand new smile!

So,one week later, we met again for the fitting of her crowns. She was all smiling and giggling. In a few minutes, her wish will come true. I handed her a mirror, for her to see her own reflection with the new crown in her mouth. Was she happy? Yes she was! It’s written well in her Instagram post.

Am I happy?…Ooo that’s for sure.  When you are able to help someone in achieving their dream and make them happy, wouldn’t it make you happy too? So, are you still hate or scared of us, dentist ? I hope not, because we will do our best to help you achieve your dream smile.
