Natalie gets her smile fixed : Dr Fauziah
Natalie had just finished her studies in Canada. She planned an extended holiday in South East Asia which included traveling in the Philippines and Vietnam before hiking in Nepal.
Whilst snorkeling in Philippines, Natalie fell face forward in a faint after eating something that made her feel sick. Her friends took her to a clinic where she received emergency treatment but poor Natalie was distraught as she found it difficult to communicate with the local care givers. She called her parents in Canada who suggested she flew to Kuala Lumpur to see a family friend to get treatment.
I received the s.o.s. message from my friend, Patrick. He explained the situation so I arranged to see Natalie when she arrived in Kuala Lumpur. Natalie reassured me that she was fine except for the injuries to her teeth and her lower lip. We took a 3D x-ray (CBCT) to see the extent of the injury and to plan her treatment. Natalie was staying with Patrick’s family and so they were also going to make sure she would be seen by a doctor to rule out any other medical problems.
Fortunately the x-rays showed that the fracture of her teeth were treatable immediately. She was very, very lucky that all she needed was two composite veneers to restore her pretty smile!
It only took one single visit to make sure Natalie could continue onwards on her South East Asian holiday! What a relief it was for Natalie and her parents as they were considering flying her back to Canada, cutting short the holiday plans all together.
These makeovers are exactly what I love doing …. making people happy is the best job in the world!
