Many patients have always asked me this question so this is my top 4 list.

1)Implant

Pro:

-we don’t touch the neighboring teeth to get support

-permanently fixed compared to dentures

Cons:

-expensive

-need a lot of bone support and space in order to place an implant

-aesthetically less predictable

2) Conventional Bridge

Pro:

-permanently fixed

-aesthetically nice and predictable

Cons:

-needs to cut neighboring teeth

-may increase sensitivity to the teeth

3) Fiber-reinforced bridge

Pro:

-no need to cut neighboring teeth

-permanently fixed

-aesthetically nice and predictable outcome

-more affordable

Cons:

-may not last as long as conventional bridge

-may get stains easily

4) Dentures

Pro:

-easy to clean

-restores function and aesthetics

-affordable

Cons:

-not fixed

-may become lose over time

-may cause pain initially
