Midline Diastema Rescued by an Actuary – Dr Gan

Irene had very clear goal – she wanted to close her midline diastema (the gap between the two upper central incisors).

She goggled and she found me. Why me, I asked?

The answer was straightforward, because I was an actuary and so was she. She wanted to know if an actuary can be a good dentist. To most of the people, actuary is someone who is only good with numbers.

Irene hoped to prove them wrong, so was I.

With the clear mission in mind, I started discussing about limitation and challenge that we might face in closing the gap.

The challenge was due to the fluorosis condition (white patches on the teeth). By doing two composite veneers only, the color matching must be good that people would not notice the difference.

I started working on the teeth and it took me about an hour to complete the two composite veneers.

“Wow! This looks so natural and so beautiful!” Exclaimed Irene!

“Now I am so confident and I have no problem at all to smile!” Irene smiled from ear to ear.

“Who said actuary can’t be an artist? You made a good job!”

I was so satisfied with the result. We both agreed that the color matching was perfect!

I think I did a great job! What do you think?

Should you have similar problem and want it to be fixed, please do not hesitate to contact me at ganshouwan@story.drfauziah.com.

Thank you.
