Lighting up the dark tooth – Dr. Adyan

About 2 months ago, one lovely patient came in to have a check-up on her teeth and she wanted to know what treatments should be done for her teeth.

This is why it’s important to have a dental check-up and consultation. Each patient is different and requires a combination of different treatments which can only be determined after the dentist completes a thorough examination of a patient’s teeth and surrounding tissues.

Her main concern was the dark front tooth which turned dark years ago. She had some pain in the tooth previously, ignored it and later on the pain slowly disappeared but the tooth became very dark. The tooth had turned non-vital (becomes ‘dead’).

Apart from the dark tooth, the old fillings were failing and needed a replacement.

After explaining what was the problem and how we could help her, we had a discussion on the treatment options and finally agreed on doing root canal treatment followed by internal bleaching for the dark tooth. The filling on the tooth was also replaced with a new one and the next tooth that had a hole was also filled.

She was a very nervous patient at first, but she grew very comfortable with the clinic and the treatment, and every time I saw her for her visits she was smiling and had a very relaxed time on the dental chair!

After completing root canal treatments, having new fillings and an internal bleaching, her smile had gotten so much more beautiful!
