Show your teeth! – Dr. Adyan

I always believe that every patient is unique. There are tons of ways to improve a smile, and it differs from person to person.

That’s why we always need to personally have a look at your teeth and gums to have a better understanding on the current condition, which will then allow us to plan the best treatment plan for you 😉

For this patient, she felt that her teeth were too small.

She has a ‘gummy smile’.

However, gummy smile can happen due to multiple reasons, and each reason needs to be treated differently to produce the best result.

After checking her teeth, there were multiple treatment options available for her. I’ve explained how each treatment will help with her smile, and what the pros and cons of each treatment were.

She decided to try gum contouring first, where we contour the shape of her gum on the front teeth to improve the size and proportion of her teeth. Although this treatment has certain limitations but she was well aware of it and excited to give it a try.

In less than an hour, her gums were contoured beautifully with laser, according to her lip line when she smiles. The gums look slightly red and brown due to the laser during contouring, however it’ll return to the normal pink colour after a week 😉
