First impression : Dr Nik
First impression is always important. With every new encounter, you are evaluated and yet another person’s impression of you is formed. These first impressions can be nearly impossible to reverse or undo, making those first encounters extremely important, for they set the tone for all the relationships that follows.
Knowing how important these first impressions are, my patient, Khairul came and visit me.
“Doctor… I’m actually scared and nervous to see a dentist and my last visit to one was so many years back” that was what Khairul said as soon as he was seated on the chair. “But I have to be here today and fix my teeth as I will be having a job interview appointment soon…and I need to look good for it”
As he talked, I realised that Khairul didn’t actually open his mouth wide and upon examination I figured out why. He has discoloured old fillings on his upper front teeth and a few new cavities too. These had make him cautious about his smile. After a lengthy discussion of possible treatment option for him, Khairul decided for 3 composite veneers on his upper teeth and composite fillings for the new cavities.
In less than two hours , I managed to give him new smile and boost his confidence to go through the job interview. His new smile would definitely give the interviewers a good first impression…wouldn’t it?
