Hasliza’s preparation for her niece’s wedding
Hasliza lives in Kelantan … her niece is about to get married this Sunday so she travelled to Kuala Lumpur to help her sister, Sabariah, the bride’s mum, prepare for the wedding.
There is so much to do! They had the caterers to sort out, the hall to decorate, the gifts for the ‘hantaran’, deliver the wedding cards … yes, it’s customary to hand deliver the invites with a personal invitation, isn’t it! Whew!
One of the numerous “things-to-do” on the never-ending list was a trip to the dentist!
Sabariah had talked about the makeovers in this clinic and suggested that Hasliza, whilst she was in Kuala Lumpur, also get a new smile to go with the new wedding outfit!
So the sisters came in yesterday for Hasliza’s transformation.
Hasliza was terrified … she sat in the chair and looked back at her sister, “I have not done this since school!” she said with a grimace.
Sabariah laughed and said, “Don’t worry … it’s painless! You only need to relax.”
With that reassurance, Hasliza began to relax and I started the transformation … I began to wave the magic wand.
We talked about the upcoming wedding and the mad rush. I teased Sabariah, “You’re more busy than the bride!” We both laughed.
Hasliza was mainly worried that the teeth would look overly large … I told her it wasn’t difficult to do at all … she just needed 3 composite veneers for the top teeth … we are going to do the bottoms later as they were rushing for another appointment in an hour.
It was done! Hasliza looked in the mirror and smiled! Immediately she turned to her sister and said, “We need to do the lower teeth soon!”
Both Sabariah and I laughed … yes, of course!
Gone was any nervousness … Hasliza was all smiles as we waved our goodbyes and goodluck wishes. 😉
