One of the very common concerns that I get from patients is with regards to the gaps between their front teeth.
It normally bothers patient as it affects how they look when they smile. They lost the confidence to speak, smile and interact with people.
This becomes worse when your partner comments about your smile and you feel inferior and low self esteem.
In general, there are few options available in closing the gaps:
Each of the options come with pros and cons, and there is no one best solution for all.
A careful analysis and discussion is important to help patients in deciding which is the best solution for them at the moment.
This middle age lady came asking for help as she had been dreadful about the gaps among her upper front teeth. Her husband didn’t like her smile and she herself didn’t like her smile. She knew that she needed to fix the problem but she was so afraid with dentists and she tried all she could to run away from dentists.
Finally, she braved herself to come for a solution.
After examination, we came up with a plan for her.
It started with cleaning her teeth . We did it according to her own pace as she was so afraid with the treatment.
After a few rounds of cleaning, and when her gum became much healthier. We started discussing about targeted treatment options available for her.
Composite veneers was the chosen treatment option. She was well infomed about the drawback of this treatmemt option, especially with regards to the color of the root canal treated tooth. I couldn’t mask the discoloration of the dead tooth until she proceed with an internal bleaching.
Anyway, we were both quite happy with the result knowing that she started from someone who did not even want to see a dentist, and now she is happy to see me every week.
I feel great as I not only close the gaps between her teeth, but also I healed the broken heart and the broken relationship.
