Small makeover, big difference – Dr. Shanaz

Small makeover, big difference – Dr. Shanaz

Bob came to me initially for the pain he’s been having on his front tooth. Knowing that he needed a root canal treatment, he took the opportunity to get his smile fixed at the same time!

As you can tell, he had many previous fillings done on his 4 front teeth with an obvious broken filling. What can’t be seen though, are that the fillings were quite compromised on the back. So I proposed to fix and redo the previous fillings as well. Due to budget constraints though, we’ll be concentrating on only 3 teeth.

Isolating the teeth for ease and cleanliness.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture after clearing all the carious parts of the teeth (diseased and infected part of the tooth). I promise to take plenty more the next time!

After redoing all the fillings.

Can you tell from the picture above how the greyish discolourations of some of the front teeth have now disappeared? Not only because I’ve redone the fillings, but also after removing all the underlying carious structures underneath the old fillings.

Can you spot the tooth with the filling I did not replace?

And after an hour, we’re done! Bob was so happy with the change of his smile, he forgot that initially came in for the root canal!

Post treatment!

If I had more time, I would like to see Bob again to recontour some of the angles of the teeth so that his smile would be a bit more even. But for now, we’ll let him enjoy this new smile he has 😀
