Gaps in between front teeth. Do I need to correct it and close or fill the gaps? or can I just leave it as it is?
These are the questions that patients keep asking themselves. Well, the choice is yours. Some might like the gap especially the one at the center midline in between the right and left center incisors. Few of my patients said that that is their trademark and would like to keep it as it is and I also do have patients that requested it to be closed.
The only thing that I can say is, we can help you should you wish to have the gap/gaps closed.
There’s two treatment option that can be done. First is to do orthodontic treatment or braces, which moves the teeth and close up the gap. Second is by doing aesthetic treatment either cosmetic fillings or veneers to close the gaps.
Orthodontic treatment will usually take approximately1.5 to 2 years to complete while aesthetic treatment will take 1 to 2 visits only depending on your choice of aesthetic treatment.
Recently, I had a patient who wanted a fast solution to close her dental gaps and opted to do it with cosmetic fillings. She had multiple gaps in between her lower front teeth as shown in picture below (Right).
It took one visit with approximately 2 hours of treatment duration for me to add and sculpt composite resin and closed up all of her lower gaps as shown in picture upper (Left). It was definitely a fast solution to her problem.
